Community Spot Light - Walker Nature Center - Reston, VA

July 13, 2017

Had the chance, earlier this week, to take some time with a friend and her darling little girl to have a girl's play date out at Walked Nature Park in Reston, located at Walker Nature Center, 11450 Glade Drive, Reston, VA 20191.

Oh my goodness we had a blast! The park setting is beautiful and has a variety of trails to follow -  some paved, some gravel, some wood chip and branch lined. All extremely beautiful and easily maneuvered with a stroller.

The Nature Center where we parked was hosting a summer camp therefore - unfortunately- we were unable to go inside and and look around. Despite that we had full access to the trails winding through 72 acres of woodlands, small creeks, and ponds.

The little ones loved the man made pond just next to the Nature Center as there were at least 8 or more frogs doing all things froggies like - jumping, sitting, swimming, or sunning.

Features to note - pavilion with picnic tables and benches; several benches along the paths and by the lakes, beautiful bridges, and public restrooms that are accessible from the outside of the Nature Center.

If you have not been yet make this a must see - the large trees provide pretty views and shade from the hot sun even with the 90 degree heat index we were comfortable exploring the trails.
