Since becoming a Mom I have become even more aware of what is in the food we eat. What is made of real ingredients and not fillers - or how much sugar and fake dies are there to make it look more and taste more appealing.
In making a conscious effort to make better choices for Julianna - as result Casey and I have been trying new things and making replacements for the day to day choices with healthier ones. It semi-goes back to my post a few weeks ago touching on how making a healthy choice is easier when it is for someone else than just yourself, check it out Why I Post My Workouts.
So with the summer heat and wanting to create more memories for Julianna - not keep her from experiencing the joys of summer as a kiddo I have been determined to find some healthier summer snack replacements. Didn't take me too long to find the inspiration I needed and they are delicious!

The key is keep it simple - literally all you need to do for these is blend up either fresh or already frozen fruit (thawed just a bit) and then pour into popsicle shape containers. On average you let them sit for about 4-5 hours to set and then enjoy.
The beauty of these is the flavors are endless depending on your taste buds - they are delicious - so fresh and you have the peace of mind that your baby and you are enjoying nothing more than actual fruit.
Some fun tips/tricks to try:
For a Fruit and Cream Pop - mix some honey in with coconut milk for the cream and layer than swirl with your popsicle stick.
Strawberries and Watermelon taste amazing together the combination highlights both flavors.
If you have fresh fruit that is about to go bad - you now have two options wash and freeze for the future smoothies and/or fruit pops or make fruit pops.
Mix in healthy greens - if you have ever tried homemade green fruit smoothies and loved how the kale, spinach, or broccoli became hidden by the orange or pineapple fruit - make the smoothie or simply add in the greens to your fruit pop mixes.
Flavors we have tried together and loved - Mango & Strawberry; Peaches & Cream (Coconut milk & honey); Canalope & Raspberry!
My only regret is the popsicle molds I have are hand me down from my Mom - perfect size for little ones like Julianna but I am left wanting more. Amazon has tons of larger popsicle molds for cheap.
