December Home Maintenance Checklist
December is here and all the hustle and bustle that comes with preparing for the holidays. From cooking, cleaning and decorating to shopping for gifts, there’s plenty to do this month. But, ready or not, the holidays, cold weather (and maybe snow) will be here before we know it. This month’s checklist includes some items to do now to prepare your home for the holidays and winter weather ahead.
Prepare for Winter Storms:
Stock up on food bottled water, candles and flashlights in case of a power outages.
Clean Your Humidifiers:
Change water daily, disinfect weeklt. Remeber to turn on your central humidifier if you have one.
Measure and install weather-strips to your windows and doors to improve your home's energy efficiency.
Brighten Your Interior:
Wipe light bulbs with a cloth dipped in a mix of 1 oz. dish soap 1/2 cup white vinegar, and 3/4 cup water.
Brighten Your Exterior:
Add lighting to outdoors steps and walkways. Avoid using lights with frayed or damaged cords.
Spruce Up Your Guest Room & Add Lights:
Place lights in the hallways bathrooms, and bedrooms to keep guests safe in the dark.
