Stay Safe this Fourth of July Holiday with These Tips

The Fourth of July holiday brings tons of fun. From cookouts to fireworks to spending time with family and friends, there’s plenty of opportunity to make great summer memories. There’s also opportunity for people and pets to get hurt.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, an average of 180 people went to the emergency room for fireworks-related injuries each day between June 22 and July 22 last year. Additionally, 48% of those injured by fireworks were between the ages of 0-19.

Keep your loved ones safe this Independence Day with these safety tips.

Grills should be at least 3 feet away from homes and structures.

Make sure children and pets stay at least 3 feet away from the grill.

Keep pets away from people food, glow bracelets, alcohol and lighters.

All pets should be kept inside when firewords are in use.

Follow all instructions on fireworks.

Have a hose or bucket of water nearby to soak used fireworks before throwing away.

Be safe and have an amazing July 4th celebrating with family and friends.
