Journey to 1,000 Children Books Continues... 300

(Photo Above: Julianna received a book of her choice for completing the Summer Reading Program - YAY
and a Sticker which clearly belongs on our forehead!)
Another milestone met - 300 different children books read with Julianna in total since the end of January.
It has been a fun challenge to take on as a family and work to expand our book themes authors and characters.
Thank you Loudoun County Public Library for challenging us parents to get reading with our kids!
Typically a trip to the library for us involves a storytime or music time - or this recently one of the many awesome free summer programs they have been hosting. Click here to view the Events Page for Loudoun County Libraries. Then we bring our large bag of books to return and begin the process of walking up and down the aisle together looking at the books highlighted in the stands and grabbing the ones that fit the season we are in or life moments i.e. summer/spring or potty training.
More often than not the books pulled out by the librarians have a theme and we follow up but pulling other books from the shelves that match. Julianna is not at the age where she loves to run down a hallway and the aisle lined with tall book cases are her favorite. The cutest part is she will be mid run down an aisle and stop on a dime after spotting a book cover she likes grab it and keep on going to the nearest table and chair to try and read it right then and there. We have been blessed with a little one who loves to read.
As shared before we have kept track of these books title and authors, ranked them and saved notes on the stories and illustrations. If you are ever looking for a good gift or a book for your own child let me know happy to provide recommendations. Additionally send any recommendations you have our way we would love to check them out and include them on our quest to 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. (Thinking we may need to up this goal!)
Lastly, have decided to have a blog post that will be home to all of the books we have read and can
then be easily searched to see what is on the list. Stay tuned to when this will be posted
